About the Barnwell Foundation...

The Barnwell Foundation has been established to target financial support that will be used towards providing critical enhancements to Barnwell’s educational programs.   The foundation, as a tax-exempt organization, is afforded flexibility in its funding to support Barnwell. 

The foundation is lead by a voluntary Board of Trustees who will work together to determine goals and focus each year for the funding.

The foundation will not only solicit funding through parent donations, but will place a large focus on soliciting support from local business/the community.  Donations to the foundation can be in many different forms as diverse as real estate, stock, artwork, and most importantly monetary contributions that include matching gifts from employers (Corporate Matching.)

As our school budgets get tighter, donations raised by the Barnwell Foundation will be critical in allowing us to continue to provide the excellent level of education that we have been so fortunate to have thus far. 

Currently, the school does not have adequate room to provide a gathering place for our students.  This creates a hardship as we do not have the flexibility to meet with groups of students without disrupting classroom space.  This issue often results in the need to make concessions that minimize the positive impact of activities, events and community support such as after-school-care.  Our goal for the first year of the foundation is to finish the basement in order to create a multi-purpose room!  The multi-purpose room will provide much needed space for many educational activities and events including community use (e.g. Boys and Girls Scouts activities.) 

The Barnwell Foundation will be successful if we can engage not only parents but the greater community, including local businesses, in making financial donations. 

We need you to contribute financially in order to help us reach our goal and we need you to support the foundation going forward by being an advocate for the effort.
